Rosie gave birth to an 8lb 7oz girl this morning. They haven't committed to a name yet but are leaning toward Lyndsey Elaine. I will have photos to post soon.
Eli David Bass was born at 6:00 AM on Saturday July 2. He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Mother and baby are doing fine. That make all of our children parents and us the grandparents of 9.
Becky finished her BYU Independent study class of American Heritage. I am so very proud of her. She got a 96% on the final exam. That was her lowest score on any assignment so in a word she Aced the class. Sounds like her next independent study class will be Doctrine and Covenants followed by French. I offered to take her to France for a vacation so she can practice. I think it would be great to go to Chamonix. She can shop and I can climb Mount Blanc. Sounds like a good deal to me.
Ben's business is growing in suburban Houston and their daughters are adorable.
JR and Heather's family is growing up rapidly. They are working on finishing the basement of their home so there wiill be room for all the kids and visitiors too.
Crystal Mountain was open for skiing on July 4 and Becky and I took advantage of skiing summer corn on an incredibly beautiful day. It was a popular destination. We even had lift lines to wait in. I am well under way to skiing every month this year.
I completed my 5th summit of Mt. Rainier on June 21. When picking a climb date in January we were guessing about weather. By a stroke of great fortune the weather was fantastic for both days of our climb. Our time from Camp Muir to the sumit was almost precisely 6 hours, the best time I have ever had while I lead the climb. The tremendous amount of snow made the climb quick and uneventfull. Nothing like being at 12,500 feet on the side of a mountain and watching the sun come up.
Our lives are very full.
